Explore this unique camping and boondocking spot from the BLM in California. Free camping at Sawtooth Canyon BLM is accessible via a one-mile dirt road, with many potholes, from CA RT 247 to the campground. The access road is passable even for large vehicles. Upon my arrival on Tuesday midday, there were only three sites left that could accommodate my 38-foot trailer. Several pit toilets are available in the campground. Waste must be taken with you, as there are no hookups, no water, and no dump station; the camping is therefore dry.
