Description

Free camping (first come, first served) from the National Park Service, Pennington County, South Dakota, on Sage Creek Rim Road (unpaved road, may temporarily close after winter storms/spring rains). 22 sites, vault toilets and covered picnic tables, but NO drinking water (available at the Ben Reifel center). RVs, trailers, and other recreational vehicles over 18 ft are NOT ALLOWED. Campfires are prohibited (fire risk); propane stoves/charcoal grills in containers are allowed. Active prairie dog colony on site.
