Description
Free dispersed camping area along Forest Road 160, the busiest and best-equipped in Allegheny National Forest, near Jake's Rocks and the Allegheny Reservoir. About 40 informal sites with fire rings, some on gravel pads. Dirt/gravel road generally passable (the largest reported vehicle was 25 feet), but passability is not guaranteed (muddy after rain) — explore before committing. No services (no water, toilets, or dumping). Free, first come first served, no permit required, 14-day limit within a 30-day period. Only burn dead wood found on site, pack out your trash.
