Free dispersed camping (boondocking) along La Sal Loop Road, in the Manti-La Sal National Forest, in the La Sal Mountains near Moab, Utah. Perched at about 7,900 feet elevation, the sites offer large flat areas with panoramic views of the region — a refreshing mountain getaway close to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Access is via the paved La Sal Loop Road, which features a steep ascent, a tight turn (15 mph), and no guardrails: caution is advised with a large RV, and it is recommended to scout on foot before committing to the dirt segments. No services on-site (no water, no restrooms, no dumping): full self-sufficiency required. Maximum stay of 14 days. No reservations, first come first served.
