Dans la zone de mise bas des ours polaires au sud de la baie d'Hudson, Wapusk est l'un des parcs les plus difficiles d'accès au pays : aucune route n'y mène, et toute visite doit se faire avec un voyagiste autorisé, en canot, en avion ou en hélicoptère. Deux enclos de camping rudimentaires existent le long des rivières Broad et Owl, réservables seulement via Parcs Canada. Même Churchill, la porte d'entrée du parc, n'est accessible que par train ou par avion, sans aucune route depuis le reste du Canada.
