🏛️ Municipal Regulations — RV Parking in Baddeck
Verified on 16/08/2026
Baddeck, gateway to Cape Breton and the Cabot Trail, is not an incorporated town: it's a village with an elected local commission (since 1908) of limited powers (water, sewer, secondary streets), located within the Municipality of the County of Victoria, of which it is the shire town. Neither the village commission nor the county has adopted a traffic or parking bylaw -- their full bylaw lists were checked directly, and neither covers the topic. The only applicable rule therefore comes straight from the province: the provincial Winter Parking Ban Regulation explicitly names the « Village of Baddeck » and bans parking an unattended vehicle on its roads between 1am and 6am, from mid-December to the end of March. Outside that winter period -- meaning during RV high season -- no overnight parking ban was found. One separate fact worth noting: Baddeck's land-use bylaw separately bans permanently living in a truck, bus, or trailer, but that's a residential zoning matter, not a ban targeting a passing RV's one-off overnight stay. Before the Cabot Trail, one last RV stop is worth checking for local rules. (Source: Province of Nova Scotia, Winter Parking Ban Regulations, Motor Vehicle Act)
