🏛️ Municipal Regulations — RV Parking in Gatineau
Verified on 16/08/2026
In Gatineau, recreational vehicles and trailers may not be parked on the street: they must be stored on the owner's residential property, in the front yard only from May 15 to October 1 (with minimum distances to respect), or in the side/back yard year-round. Violating this zoning rule carries a fine of at least $300. Separately, overnight street parking is banned in winter (December 1 to April 1, midnight to 6am on weekdays and 3am to 6am on weekends), unless a paid permit is obtained ($85/season), and is fully suspended during snow-removal operations. Between two destinations, a careful camper always takes the time to check whether wild camping is tolerated at the place in question. (Source: Ville de Gatineau, zoning bylaw no. 501-2005)
